The Turn-O-Graph is a variant of the classic Datejust, however it features a rotating bezel which is where the watch gets its name. The watch was first launched back in the '50s for US Air Force Thunderbird pilots returning from war as an honourable gift hence the other name for the watch, the 'Thunderbird'. The first versions of the Turn-O-Graph had the look of a Submariner and contained the old, pencil style hands until it was later changed to feature the famous Mercedes style hands.
Many of the Turn-O-Graph models featured a sweeping red second hand which went beautifully with a black or slate dial.
The watch was soon discontinued in the early '60s because it was outsold by both the Submariner and the GMT Master. However it was reborn in the early 2000's which featured a bi-directional rotating bezel which makes it the most functional watch from the Datejust range.
