Watches & Wonders 2026Chronometer
TUDOR presents a new addition to the Black Bay 54 line in "TUDOR blue" that embodies the purest modern expression of the brand’s first-ever divers’ watch. A sapphire blue dial and bezel are paired with a perfectly proportioned 37mm case and a Manufacture Calibre.
The most faithful recreation of Tudor's original diving watch, the Tudor Black Bay 54 draws direct inspiration from the reference 7922 of the early 1950s, a watch adopted by both the French and US Navies and worn by diving professionals at a time when scuba diving was still in its infancy.
The compact 37 mm stainless steel case stays true to the proportions of the original, with a clean unidirectional bezel devoid of graduated hash marks, a redesigned crown with historical proportions, and hands pinched at the base just as they appeared in 1954. This blue edition introduces Tudor's distinctive sapphire hue across a sunray-brushed dial with matching blue bezel, while the signature "Snowflake" hands, first introduced in 1969, are finished with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova. A lollipop seconds hand echoes the look of the reference 7922 with an additional period-correct charm.
Powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5400, COSC-certified with a silicon hairspring and a 70-hour weekend-proof power reserve, the watch is water-resistant to 200 metres. It is available on a three-link rivet-style steel bracelet or rubber strap, both fitted with Tudor's T-fit rapid adjustment clasp requiring no tools.
Backed by Tudor's five-year transferable guarantee with no registration required, this watch is ideal for those seeking the most historically authentic expression of the Black Bay, combining over 70 years of Tudor diving watch heritage with thoroughly modern manufacture-level performance.
